Grand Lady

Pass Christian, MS

This historic “Chalet” style craftsman home on the beach in Pass Christian, MS was thankfully saved from Katrina’s devastation by the previous owners but left its new owner with a shell of a home needing extensive updates and improvements to the foundation, electrical, and plumbing systems along with all interior fixtures and finishes. Understanding the need for almost every room to be touched, the owners retained our firm to stabilize and improve indoor and outdoor spaces including the kitchen, all living, dining, bedrooms, and bathrooms of the large home. Exterior entrances were improved and an outdoor seating area with a fireplace was conceived and constructed. Interior furnishings, fabrics, and finishes were selected and sourced and all wall/ceiling surfaces received new colors of paint or wallpaper.

Bathrooms have been updated with new or vintage fixtures and classic vanities with stone tops and heated marble flooring. Of particular interest is the kitchen with custom cabinetry, and wood and marble countertops with the centerpiece being a vintage La Cornue double oven/range fully restored by the client.

My husband and I worked with Nora on the redesign and updating of our kitchen. Nora did a great job of taking our kitchen into the present day without taking away from or altering the style of our 1860's cottage. Nora was a great help in rethinking the way we use our rooms, suggesting turning the formal parlor into our dinning room which resulted in a fresh more open layout of our home accented by her paint color selections.

Nora was a dream to work with and did an outstanding job on our sorority chapter room! The women are beyond excited about their new design and everything was done professionally and on time. I would certainly use her services in the future! I can not say enough about how pleased we are!

After working with Ed and Nora on several historical projects, I have come to greatly admire their respect for the existing structure as well as respecting their clients' wishes. The attention to detail is unmatched and their designs blend seamlessly between old and new. The results are always happy clients.

My husband and I worked with Nora on the interior re-design of our home and she was absolutely fantastic. She did a great job identifying our style and blending it with her vision of what our house could become. We are thrilled with the results! Nora also helped us make design choices on window treatments and furniture upholstery. She was very professional and her expertise saved us countless hours and energy. Nora put us at ease and we never felt awkward when we had to re-evaluate an idea and stick within our budget. She offered a range of options at different price points. Most importantly, she helped us make the most of the treasured items we already owned and transformed this house into our home. Her ideas, eye for design, and talent make Nora a real joy to work with!
